Annual Awards Banquet

About the banquet
Each year the Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation holds an annual fundraiser called Kulia I Ka Nu’u (“strive to reach for the highest”) Banquet and honors public school graduates and a corporation. These honorees have not only distinguished themselves in their respective fields but have made significant contributions to the community as well.

The Kulia I Ka Nu’u Banquet is the Foundation’s only fund-raising activity. Funds realized help support the Foundation’s Good Idea Grant program and its Design Thinking Boot Camp.

The Good Idea Grants are mini-grants for teacher initiated projects which provide necessary financial resources not normally available to them, while the Design Thinking program allows teachers to discover a new way of addressing and deriving solutions from a student centric perspective.
