Good Idea Grant: Mystery Boxes with a Mission Motivate Student Learning

 

A handful of schools in Hawaiʻi have adopted Super Powers Academy, which provides classrooms with mystery boxes containing missions related to a superpower.  By completing these missions, students are taught literacy, social studies, and STEM.  For example, one mission tasks students with building a glider, requiring them to create their own designs based on science.  Video story courtesy Hawaii News Now.
