Waipahu High School students in the Japanese language program built a traditional Zen rock garden to honor their sister school in Japan. Teacher Tanya Harris credits her dedicated students for the successful completion and upkeep of the garden. For this project, the students mapped out a piping system, set group deadlines, and encouraged their peers to treat the garden respectfully.
